July 2020 Monthly Auction

Congratulations to S. Fisher who placed the winning bid of $3,500 for Junes's silent auction painting, "Claret Peonies" by Vladimir Filippov, Estimated at $4,000 to $5,000.

As our July silent auction selection, we are pleased to present a magical summer landscape, "Village End" by Victor Kopayev, estimated at $3,500 to $4,500.

Like most Russian artists, Kopaev was strongly influenced by the world around him. Born in the Republic of Karelia, which borders the Gulf of Finland and the White Sea. Kopayev was mesmerized by the beauty of Russia's countryside and small villages. The influential newspaper Kommersant wrote for the opening of Kopayev's 2006 Moscow exhibition- "Victor Kopaev's paintings are 'portraits' of the beauty of the expansive and rich nature of the Russian landscape. Not subject to time nor dependent on human emotion."
